Southeastern Launches ‘Track My Journey’ with Signalbox
Southeastern is the latest UK rail operator to adopt Signalbox technology to deliver a more seamless customer experience. The new ‘Track My Journey’ feature uses the Signalbox API to offer a richer, more personalised experience in the Southeastern app by enabling train identification in real time.
Passengers no longer need to rely on live departure boards or check real-time updates online from on board the train. If location services are enabled, the Southeastern app can now instantly detect which train you’re travelling on and serve up relevant real-time information automatically.
This is made possible by Signalbox’s Find My Train technology, which uses machine learning to match a short burst of smartphone location data to a specific train on the network.
Southeastern has integrated with Signalbox to create the new Track My Journey feature.
Southeastern have enhanced the Track My Journey feature with a live tracking link passengers can share with friends and family – making it easier to answer the classic “which train are you on?” and “what time do you get in?” questions.
While Southeastern sources its own real-time data once a user selects their train and manages ETA sharing independently, Signalbox provides the train identification intelligence behind the scenes – helping the app identify which train each user is on.
Signalbox API helps Southeastern passengers find their train automatically and get personalised live data direct to their smartphone.
